Read Around the World
This is a Kiwanis International focus program partner that I envision as something that Kiwanis Clubs can do in their communities from birth thru adulthood. Help parents learn how to read to their children, and encourage them to read..... help schools encourage reading for fun.... support area literacy endeavors

Literacy center loses funding
Literacy center loses funding
Just letting everyone know that the Clark County Literacy Center is in need of help from the community.
A good part of their services is for adult literacy. For those in need of a GED, those those who 'graduated' still not able to read, those who want to learn English as their second language. The Literacy Center is the one stop shop for community members with these needs training tutors and coordinating services throughout the county.
All donations will be accepted. Stop in and drop off funds, or visit their webpage ClarkCounty Literacy.org to donate on line.
You are also cordially invited to our thank you Funding Dinner on August 28th

What are We About??
As an organization WE have defined ourselves in one succinct statement:
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.--- as adopted October 2004.
The international web site says we are an organization of service and community-minded individuals who support children and young adults around the world. Currently there are more than 600,000 Kiwanis-family members in 96 countries.
Each club is to make their mark by responding to the needs of their communities and by pooling of resources to address worldwide issues.
The Question: DO WE?

The Question: DO WE?
- Is our Club focused on this “big picture”?
- Are we making a meaningful impact on the needs of our community and its children?
